Promoting Innovations in EMS: National Steering Committee Webcasts

Oct 30, 2015 by

The Promoting Innovations in EMS (P.I.E.) Project hosted the National Steering Committee Meeting last month, where current barriers to improving EMS in the U.S. were addressed. For anyone interested in the topic, who was unable to attend the conference New York Mobile Integrated Healthcare Association has posted videos from the webcast, which can be found below or here.

The barriers EMS faces are often the same ones that hinder community paramedicine initiatives: legal and regulatory limits, need for financial reform, obstacles in data exchange, traditions in healthcare or EMS culture, and issues dealing with workforce and education. At the national meeting, the project team convened in person to further develop the many recommendations that have emerged to overcome these barriers to innovation. The end goal of this two year project is to create a National Framework Document of actionable, tangible recommendations that communities at the local, state and national level can actually use.

We encourage anyone interested in community paramedicine, mobile integrated health, or building a better EMS system in general to watch these 4 webcast videos from the National Conference.
