The Journal of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (JHEOR) conducted and subsequently published a study showing the effectiveness of a Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) team and its ability to prevent emergency department visits.  The team consisted of EMT’s, paramedics, nurses, social workers and even pharmacists.  The results showed a dramatic decrease in in emergency department utilization, 20%, and in hospitalization, 40%.  You can read the entire publication below.
